2027 CFA Level I Curriculum Changes
The 2027 curriculum is not a complete rewrite, but there are significant updates in a few areas.
Major changes include:
- Quantitative Methods – substantially reorganised, with expanded coverage of estimation, simulation, portfolio optimisation, and a new introduction to financial data science, AI and large language models.
- Equities (formerly Equity Investments) – extensively restructured with greater emphasis on practical valuation, forecasting, equity research and cost of equity estimation.
- Ethics – updated to reflect the latest Standards of Practice Handbook (Version 12), with each Standard presented as a separate learning module.
Most of the remaining Level I curriculum is unchanged or only lightly revised.

Our current course is based on the 2026 CFA Level I curriculum.
To support 2027 candidates, we’ll progressively release updated materials according to the following schedule:

Can I Start Studying Now?
Absolutely. There’s no need to wait for the 2027 materials before you begin your preparation.
We still recommend starting with Quantitative Methods, using the current 2026 materials. While the 2027 Quant curriculum has been significantly reorganised, most of the underlying concepts remain the same. The changes consist primarily of a major restructuring of existing content, together with a few new additions. As a result, the 2026 lessons remain highly relevant and provide an excellent foundation. Just remember to revisit the topic once the 2027 Quant materials are available.
After Quantitative Methods, you can continue with the rest of the curriculum as normal. The 2027 materials for Equities and Ethics should be available when you reach those topics in your study plan.
