Benchmark spread

PrepNuggets

The yield spread over a specific benchmark, usually measured in basis points. The chosen benchmark should have a time-to-maturity that is very close to the bond.

For example, a USD-denominated corporate bond with 3 years to maturity should choose an on-the-run US T-note with 3 years to maturity as its benchmark.
